Have you tried the simple thing of pulling the connector off and pushing it back on?

Have you tried putting the bulb in from the other side? might just be the contact on the base of that particular bulb not pressing on hard enough? I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

the brake light works, its in the same bulb, so the contact isnt an issue

combined brake/side lights have two filaments so 2 contacts and earth.

easiest to try bulb in other side At work

Am I missing something here, as 'Mona Geeza' said, try the other side. There are two filaments in the bulb, just because the brake light works doesn't mean both filaments are healthy.

Yeah, CG beat me by a few seconds as well. Anyways, the conclusion, the side light filament has blown, buy a new bulb. Thumbs Up

Hi guys
Also have the same fault on my 2008 Freelander 2. O/S rear sidelight inop but brake light works, I have tried bulbs and even got the testers out and I have voltage there but not light!? I've seen the looms are available seperately so have got one on order just wondered if you got to the bottom of your problem?
Thanks

Not saying that this is your problem but most of the lights on the FL2 are driven from FET devices in the fuse box, these act like a relay and fuse combined.

In the event of one of the circuits being overloaded by maybe a shorted bulb or even just a power glitch, the FET "opens" like a fuse blowing and remains so until reset, to reset it you need to remove the power source momentarily - IE disconnect the battery for a few seconds, this can often resolve many faults of this nature.
