FR2 best value for money!

Parkers has highlighted the FR2 S as the best value new vehicle in its class (taking account of depreciation, running costs, road tax etc).

Quite right too. The new S model is better value since adding terrain response. Pre 2011 the GS model was the best all rounder. Not as dear as the XS or HSE yet better equipped than an S. Hence I opted for one, all the toys I need but for a good price Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

According to three dealers I have spoken to, as a used buy, the HSE's are in massive demand and all three of the dealers I spoke to would pay a premium for good HSE's.

Apparently, now the FL2 is over 4 years old, and open to a bigger market place, HSE's are what many are asking for. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I must say after over 40 years of driving and having owned a lot of various marques in various specs, my HSE never ceases to impress me.

compared to some similar four wheel drives, eg Honda, Toyota, etc all of which I have test drove or owned at one stage, the FL2 HSE has a touch of class, and always makes you feel as if your driving something special.

what we are hearing now on the forum about it's off road driving capabilities just put's the iceing on the cake for me !!

For a car out of warranty, it's got to be the base spec. After all if any of th HSE goodies fail, it's your money that will have to repair it!

Hi all, just been to a car auction where 2 x 08 FL2's went through as below;

1. Grey 'S' 38k fsh with GS alloys 1 owner = £14400
2. Black 'GS' 35k fsh 16"standard wheels 1 owner = 17300

might help as a point of real value within the trade. As per normal sun = convertibles were daft money just like most 4x4's in winter 2010 FL2 XS Auto in Santorini Black with HSE alloys

I looked at an 07 S auto when I bought my current car, but went for a manual SE because the spec was much better and the price was the same. But the Parkers site is referring to the current S, which has a higher spec.
