Wales 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e S Manual Lago Grey
Help!! I've messed up!!

Need your help please members, I recently purchased some 17 inch wheels to go on my basic Freelander 2 S model, the problem is they don't fit.
I know my others were 16 inch, but shouldn't they be straight swap or is it because I have a basic S model.

Please help me out with your great advice, and go softly on me.

Are they OEM LR wheels? What parts not fitting?

If so I have not heard of it before?

Also are they Freelander 2 wheels as D3/D4, RRS & FFRR Wheels don't fit Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

They were advertised as genuine LR wheels off a freelander 2( not that counts much these days), the studs don't line up, about half cm out.

Have a look at the item eBay Item No. 270714540905 on fleabay.

Thanks for your quick replies by the way. Lago Grey 2.2 s td4..e

Can't say I've seen these alloys as an option for the FL2 in honesty. I suspect if the offset is wrong that they must be for a FL1. Could be for a Disco, 17" is a minimum for them and the offset is different to a FL2, but I'd doubt it. Pity, they look okay. What does the seller say? Bet he doesn't want to pick or courier these back unless he has to.

There is no differnece between a S model and a HSE model re what alloys they will take, so dismisss that.

I believe there is a certain amount of time to open disputes

File it and you can get your money back ASAP, don't waste your time on the seller Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Sorry to hear of your problem mate, the tyres are the wrong size for the 17 inch wheels too. Should be 235x65x17. The Ebay seller though had some good feedback so maybe he didn't realise himself.

Thanks guys, I have logged a dispute with Paypal, hopefully it is a genuine mistake with the seller as he has good feedback, and fingers crossed it will be resolved easily.

Should've got the advice first from here before putting in my offers, here's hoping I get my hard earned cash back as still need to get new tyres!!! Big Cry

Thanks again everyone. Smile Lago Grey 2.2 s td4..e

They're proper LR accessories for Freelander 1 called 'Vortex' available from about 2001 and when bought with tyres have 225/55 17 Pirelli or Michelin fitted. Part no STC50398 (wheel only).

Just to update you, I've had a full refund on these wheels. Very Happy Very Happy

Still looking for some new wheels with very good tyres though, may just go and get new tyres for my 16 inch wheels to make life easier.

Can anybody give any answer to why I have only had 7000 miles out of my Contis that came with car? Only done normal driving and out and about when snow was down?

Do I start blaming the wife yet? Lago Grey 2.2 s td4..e

To work out the reason for the wear I'd have to know the wear pattern. If the pattern is at all uneven, it will be due to suspension geometry or over/under inflation. If it's even all-over wear then I'd suspect a problem with the tyres. In my case I'd go to my local tyre man for advice, since it's his job to know about tyres. From reading posts here and personal experience, FL2 normally gets 30 to 40 thousand miles on standard 17" Goodyears. They aren't winter tyres are they? If so they will wear much faster if used in summer conditions.
