They were advertised as genuine LR wheels off a freelander 2( not that counts much these days), the studs don't line up, about half cm out.

Can't say I've seen these alloys as an option for the FL2 in honesty. I suspect if the offset is wrong that they must be for a FL1. Could be for a Disco, 17" is a minimum for them and the offset is different to a FL2, but I'd doubt it. Pity, they look okay. What does the seller say? Bet he doesn't want to pick or courier these back unless he has to.

Luckily I did pay by paypal and will take that advice, I've contacted the seller to see what he says first of all, if no joy I will go down the paypal route.

Sorry to hear of your problem mate, the tyres are the wrong size for the 17 inch wheels too. Should be 235x65x17. The Ebay seller though had some good feedback so maybe he didn't realise himself. |

Thanks guys, I have logged a dispute with Paypal, hopefully it is a genuine mistake with the seller as he has good feedback, and fingers crossed it will be resolved easily.

They're proper LR accessories for Freelander 1 called 'Vortex' available from about 2001 and when bought with tyres have 225/55 17 Pirelli or Michelin fitted. Part no STC50398 (wheel only). |

To work out the reason for the wear I'd have to know the wear pattern. If the pattern is at all uneven, it will be due to suspension geometry or over/under inflation. If it's even all-over wear then I'd suspect a problem with the tyres. In my case I'd go to my local tyre man for advice, since it's his job to know about tyres. From reading posts here and personal experience, FL2 normally gets 30 to 40 thousand miles on standard 17" Goodyears. They aren't winter tyres are they? If so they will wear much faster if used in summer conditions. |
