I could be wrong here but this is just my opinion...the car isn't making its new peak power all the time, the only time it will is if you've got your foot right down, for overtaking perhaps, which is only possibly 10 seconds at a time, and not often at all. So the car will be working we within its manufactured tolerances, and also the same amount of strain as it usually works under with the LR map. So personally I can't see there being a problem, although I'm not taking responsibilty for anything!

Surely a car that tows a 2 ton trailer most of it's life will be under considerably more strain that isn't mapped (having lots of torque going through constantly), than a moderately mapped car that only tows occasionally (only occasionally having slightly more torque through it?)

However, a techy or similar would be able to say better. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

I was hoping a few others had tried it out. Is the transmission the same in the i6? Surely that takes more pounding than the TD4?

I'm not positive but I seem to remember a technician at the dealer telling me the gearbox wasnt designed for a 4x4-maybe the same as the engine(peugeot) and is only rated as being capable of handling something Like 495 nms of torque (max) superchips upgrade=480 nms.

I'm afraid the maximum torque for a Aisin Warner AWF21 automatic gearbox is only 450 Nm.
