Rovers always used to have them (I think they copied the idea from Rolls Royce). So when they started making luxury Landrovers they continued the practice. I think the small plate just looks wrong. A dealer should always fit the large plate.

Whats luxury about a big blob of yellow on the ass end Wink - looks very ugly and spoils any (carefully chosen) paintwork colour, so the smaller it is the better.
Just glad that we have reflective white registration plates and normal sized ones at that Thumbs Up 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

CH has relective white plates front & rear, and, you can choose between sizes to suit your vehicle.

"Number Plates" have an interesting history, especially when governments decided to change them. Just one example was when the Austrian government decided to change the then existing black with white lettering to the reverse i.e. white with black lettering.

There was fury from the traditionalists who claimed that the original was indeed easier to read and they brought forward "experts" to back their claim. However probably the root cause of their anger was that the new white with black lettering number plate was exactly the same design of that which is used by the Germans Wink

And, there is a move by the EU to standardize car number plate design (not that that would effect CH or N), personally I think that motion has no chance of success.

I've always felt a bit sorry for those foreigners with their tatty official plates that are always the wrong size for the car Wink . But it felt really weird driving around the US with no plate on the front at all.

Rolling with laughter Tatty Rolling with laughter what foreign plates are you talking about Question

Our official plates certainly couldnt be more suitable in colour and size for any vehicle and are the same size for front and rear Thumbs Up although I am not a great follower of the blue EU panel. All plates are mounted in a black plastic holder and not directly on the paintwork Thumbs Up

Admittedly Swiss plates are pretty cool. And I like the Austrian ones with that aristocratic coat of arms. But as for the Belgians.... Shocked

And white is just SOOO common my dear.
