Drive away door locking

Hi is there a way of removing the drive away locking feature that i can do myself? or is it a visit to the dealers to have the feature removed with their software? I stopped the annoying seat belt ringing by turning ignition on & then put belt buckle in & out 9 times this stops the annoying ringing(red light still on dash) (reverse process to reactivate) wanted this ringing off as i get in & out quite alot on short journeys! ps i allways wear my belt!
any help on the door auto lock much appreciated
regards Cool Cool Cool

I think there is, search the forum. Failing that, pull a fuse?

I think it's a trip to the dealers. Sad
Page 44 of the manual says 'the dealer can activate or deactivate this function'.

I also found this forum topic in the 'Tips' section;

I was told it would cost £40 to have it deactivated. Just putting up with it, although I do think it could be a safety issue if you had to be rescued after an accident. 2007 TD4 SE Manual

if you prang the doors will (should) unlock. if you prang so badly that all systems instantly fail and the doors dont unlock it will probably not be worth trying to rescue what is left of you At work

if you wont them unlocked whilst driving press the unlock button after they have self locked they should stay unlocked untill the next time you open and shut the doors.

You can open the front doors from the inside at speed even when atuolocked or locked via dash button.
Why do you wish to deactivate???

Last one I heard about they just throwed a big brick through the drivers window hitting him in the face, only opened door to drag him out and left him in the road with a serious head injury Evil or Very Mad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

When Mrs G was a health visitor in Leeds she did a week stint in Chapeltown, that week two other health visitors were car-jacked outside the health center, druggies trying to get hold of prescription pads, watching them get in the car then striking at the traffic lights down the road.
Needless to say she didnt work there again sticking to the more pleasant Horsforth area At work

To me it locks at too low a speed. I often go to the car and turn it round ready to drive off. My kids generally dawdle along and get in the car after the manovre (and the doors have locked) - its a pain to have to keep unlocking to let them in. Tried putting a rocket up their backsides to get them in at the same time as me but no luck.

So am having mine deactivated at the dealer when it goes in to have a "door open" fault fixed. No mention of a fee to re-programme it. Will carry large wrench in case of carjacking Whistle

12mph I think. Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well.

Don't think mine's set to 12mph. Must try to slow down my 3-point turns if it is Laughing
