Foot off clutch, just push the button and things should work. |

Well I think you can put the fob in and press start button without your foot on the clutch/brake and this will fire up the basic pre-start crap without starting the engine. I believe you can open windows etc from there. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

RTFM. Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well. |

Seriously Dave W, do you have a owners manual? If you don't forget you can get everything you need to know from http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/

Alex - you do deserve the member's gratitude - even when you're wrong, because, you make the effort to try and be helpful and informative. There are those who are too idle to either search for the answer within the existing Threads here on Freel2, or those who simply are unable or unwilling to read through an Owner's Manual. You're a virtuous Saint - but - as I'm an atheist you'll just be a decent chap and/or a damn good bloke. Or in the currency of what passes today as acceptable common english street parlance: a jolly good egg. |

Thanks Alex. I've had the Freelander for 6 months and hadn't noticed this. |

Having driven legally on the road for 37 yrs and off road for much longer and able to drive any thing from http://www.flickr.com/photos/35110861@N08/3365260002/ to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Combine_NH-CR960.jpg and http://www.jrileyagri.co.uk/vervaet_harvesters.html I don't expect to have to RTFM to turn on the ignition in a Land Rover!!! or is that progress? |
