Is this the styling cover you are talking about?

Looks better with the lamp guards. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Ive got the chrome strip across the top of my front grille, I was a bit put off initially as its just chrome plastic not stainless steel and didnt know how it would stand up to the weather etc, but its been on a year now, done 30000 miles and it still looks as good as new, no problems, I did the same to cover up a big stone chip, best solution in my mind. and it is a good fit too. I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

Chrome is for gypo's only!
Not responsible people who care about the reputation of Freelanders Whistle

I think you can get sued for slagging off gypo's these days, watch out or you might have 1/2 ton of old tarmac piled on yours when you go out next, Laughing I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

BlackLR, I will photo the front of the car for you when I can a little later this week. If your car is black it will look super but my car is Zermatt and whilst I have said that it is not the prettiest thing you will see it does do its job.
You will need to take the front sensors from the front bumper and drill two more holes in the styling cover to place them. There is enough cable to reach forward though. I will post picture asap.

Ralphk, I have just bought a FL2 with the same protection on the front, when you fitted yours did you need to drill any holes in the existing bumper? The reason I ask is I am thinking about removing mine.. Thanks

Hi Gman!
Yes there is a requirement to drill holes in the existing bumper to secure the guard. If you remove the guard it will be impossible to cover the locating holes. I have thought about removing mine but frankly the Zermatt Silver with the black front guard and side stripes in my opinion makes it look pretty good Ralph

Hi TheGman, Just wondering if you ever took off the black bumper protector on your FL2? Just bought an FL2 with the protector and am also thinking of removing it without hopefully not to much damage underneath Confused
Thanks!!!

above is the video on how to fit styling cover.

This shows what hole have to be drilled, there are six holes along the top and 4 hole at the bottom, that will be seen once the cover is removed.

Hi 3landertwo, Thumbs Up thanks for the link, this is very clear, so for the moment I will leave it on, and perhaps searching for a pair of light grills, which then, I think looks nicer with the cover. Or search myself a FL2 facelift bumper to replace the complete part.
