That looks a bit suspect:

"There" should be spelt "Their".

Also, an 0845 number? To your local plod!

Also, how was your Email address acquired?

I'm thinking spam.

Anyone else?

p.s. Theives is spelt Thieves.

p.p.s. "If you own one of these vehicle". The word vehicle should be plural.

agree about the spelling but the 0845 number given is the correct one (non-emergency) for N Yorks plod - sign of the times Neutral

Ahhhhh right!

You beat me to it. Was going to ask if you had checked the number.

Still, it's not a very professional email.

I'm in an extended neighbourhood watch scheme where farmers report dodgy activities to each other and to the police. so I get a few of these messages from the local police
dodgy vans driving round at night, that sort of thing. diesel thieves are all around at the moment, and farms tend to have a lot of the stuff. heating oil too.

Just stick it in the garage when youre not using it, I can never understand folk prepared to pay out 35 grand on a car and leave it in the street all hours.
Mind you these days garages arent really for vehicles are they, just the family junk Rolling Eyes I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

it came from 'name'@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk its genuine, and scumbags are stealing Land-rovers all over Yorks but mainly defenders due to the unique way that LR make them theft proof Laughing nearly every defender owning farmer I know has had atleast one nicked in the last 10 years.
Never park one at the top of a hill, as the crooks break in, coast down hill until out of earshot of your house, hot-wire it then be on their way. bit pointless really as most defender owners are deaf Laughing At work

There are similar warnings from Derbyshire police, about Land Rover theft.
Quite a bit in the local papers recently.

A simillar message has been circulated by Staffordshore Police. That has appeared on other Landrover forums.
It would seem that Defenders are the main target though! 1998 300TDi Auto Disco, never to be forgotten.

A similar type of message to this has been issued to the farming community in particular by Cheshire Police.

Members may remember a post I put up about our Vicar's sons 90 being stolen (from the top of a hill) late last year, followed by the Vicars 110 2 weeks later.
They were both seen on The Mersey Tunnel CCTV system travelling towards Bootle but disappeared.

During last month our Vicar had a call from Merseyside Police to say that they had recovered the 110 from an industrial unit in North Liverpool along with a number of others.

It had been spotted driving through Liverpool on false plates by a police patrol (this is the good bit) who new that the registration number did not match the Defender badge on the back so they pulled it.

Nice to know that some bobby's are keen on Land Rovers and know the differences between models.

Unfortunately the 110 was in such a mess interior wise that the insurance company wrote it off. It must have been bad because the Vicars son is studying off road vehicle design at university and is usually up for a project and even he would not take it on.

Anyway top marks to The Merseyside Police for a good job.
