Finally going in for repairs

Hello friends,
Today is a BIG day for me and would definitely like to share the big events with all of you. I will brake my vow of silence today.... Very Happy
After more that one and a half months of negotiations, waiting and lots of patience I got my babe an appointment for her to be 'fixed'. So she's going in next Monday (hopefully) with a long list of problems to be fixed (15 they are - many of them software related). After considering all the other Land Rover models as a 'special part exchange' and to be honest looking at some other cars as well which are considered more reliable by some, I made up my mind - I think. This car is the golden mean of cars: not too big, quite an off-roader, beautiful (I think more than any of the competition), great interior, quite rich in technology, superb ride, etc. Thumbs Up I have finally decided that I could not betray my big love and I will give LR the chance they want to get her repaired. Sth I want myself more than anything else as well! I'm glad that she'll be in at my trusty service dealer and I keep my fingers crossed and wish that she'll be out with no scratches or screws missing Whistle and good as new! Bow down
Actually it's such a big day today that I got some pics of her (freshly washed and waxed) and posted them so that you may admire her too!

And especially for Carl a pic of her with a small car Censored n, the most I could bear as a ca Censored n! Rolling with laughter

I'll keep you posted of any progress made, as there are many things to be done; remember front suspension knock, windscreen replacement plus... plus... plus...

It wasn't really that harder decision for you to make to keep the FL2, deep down you knew this was always going to be your baby didn't you......

Hope it all goes to plan at the dealership and they deliver it back as new......I mean better than new Rolling with laughter

Hooray we knew you'd see sense and stick with her...It would be a shame to loose her as she looks so nice...maybe whilst it is in you could get the rear spoiler added????? Not to everybodies taste but I think it dresses what is the blandest part of the car. Sincerely hope all gets fixed OK Def and I second Gammba 's statement that you get it back BETTER than new!!!

Keep us upto date with the rebirth Thumbs Up

Is it only Land Rover that switch the wiper direction??? Never noticed before Defkalion, but your left hooker has the wiper blades sweeping to the drivers side (passenger side in UK), which is obviously opposite to us. I see so many cars particularly the French or older VWs that sweep to the passenger side in the UK... which I feel is rude and dangerous since you loose an arc of viewing area, normally covered with road dirt....unless more up to date foreign made cars are now switching the side the blades sweep to suit the driver. Question Question

best of luck. Nice to see one with the roof rack on, I just had my put on (US), but won't be home for a bit to see her - plus has the windows (front) tinted Mr. Green

Betsy is going to look all pretty now - I'll send pics soon as the dealer sends me one.

I had a car like yours the last time i was in Greece.

You didn't buy it from one of those car hire firms i last used in Greece did you

That had knocking suspension, oil leaks, dodgy windscreen and breaks that squealed. Thumbs Up

Thanks everybody for your kind wishes. Sorry I didn't respond quicker but my internet connection was down (it's not just cars that break down).
Now regarding the car...
Avtur, I do keep my fingers crossed, nevertheless, as npinks said, my nightmares persist - and I mean it.
Carl I'd rather not have the rear spoiler, at least not yet. Plus wait to see her with my windsurf rails, or the snowboard ones, she looks even pretier. Yes the wipers are ok for a lhd, but did you know they have to take them off to replace the windscreen? I hope they put them back facing in the right direction again! Whistle
Npinks, no the car was bought brand new; remember my post in April about going to the LR customs to check that the car was delivered as ordered? Anyway the car you are talking about only had 3 problems - not 15 - so maybe I should have bought that. It would be cheaper too!
Oh, one more thing my friends: we just found out that the front tyres are almost completely worn out! Big Cry Even LR could not believe it. Let me note here, that I've never been off road. I have 17000km and tyres have to be replaced pretty soon! So my problems now have reached 16! BTW car was delivered with Pirelli Scorpion Zero's.
My only compensation is that I trust the guy from LR who's responsible for my car now and also trust the person responsible at the service garage. Both of them are always helpful and know what they are talking about!
So next week will be really adventurous but I pray for a happy ending.
I'll keep you all posted.
