I paid 1.37.9 today in Crawley but also noticed that unleaded was 6p cheaper than diesel, many years ago diesel was cheaper than unleaded, then they put more tax on diesel making it more expensive, last year there was only 2p a litre differance between unleaded and diesel now its 6p Not bad considering diesel is a by product of oil. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Remember that Morrisons, Sainsburys etc are slightly cheaper than advertised because they give you loyalty points. Using a credit card that gives you money back (or extra loyalty points) also cuts the cost slightly.

In 2007 there was a 2p difference in fuel tax between petrol and diesel, this is no longer the case according to Petrolprices.com

Vat is charged on both fuel cost and duty. Which means you pay 20% tax on the tax you have already paid. |
