Dont the job search websites have links to sites or advice?

Apart from that I'm unable to offer much more advice

Hmmm yeah I feel for you. I had disconcerting job news today too, although not as bad as redundancy.

Plan for the worst, hope for the best is always a good strategy, and as npinks say's, there's an endless amount of advice on the job sites For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

Sorry to hear that. I work in the public sector and although my job and my colleagues jobs are safe for the next year at least, they are cutting 2 supervisor posts from 2 to 1. Crazy stuff.

Try Google search and you might find some decent websites.

Feel for you Tony Thumbs Up - goes against the grain spending when you need to be careful, but have a look into getting a professional CV done rather than a home brew.

hi tony - sorry to hear your news.

I have been through redundancy a few times - got me 11 years ago but fortunately the package was enhanced and I found another job quickly - been at this place 10 years and escaped the axe three times - we are due for another round in 15 months - its markd on my calendar.

Don't get despondent - its the job that is made redundant not you.

I don't exactly know what you do but i have always found recruitment agencies are good at pulling things together for you and touting for jobs.

If you need me to have a word with the Major of Stockton let me know - he's only got a few more months left in post so might want not to do something that everyone remembers him for in a bad way.... There's always a way forward!

Make sure u get on Linkedin, most work i get comes through there and via old contacts. Also a lot of recruiters use it to find you and especially at the moment as so many people are applying for jobs they advertise they try to fill through sites like this before the put any ads out.
Jobserve is pretty good too, depending on sector The missus - SD4 HSE - Black - 2012

Have a look on Google for Bradley CV's, I've used their free section and advice to prep CV's in the past and careers people seem to think they're good, as well as employers Thumbs Up

Know the feeling mate, made redundant on the 31st of December and believe me it's tough out there.
Hope you have a bit of luck, fingers crossed for you. Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well.

I am sorry for anyone loosing their job. Not having a Freelander is insignificant. Just take care of your family and yourself and try some of the suggestions people have made, I am sure it will work out.
