I do not know the situation in UK, but I think that is now mandatory for diesel oil to have 7% biodiesel. It is an EU directive. |

Yes that is the same in the UK - we are all running on it. Landrover, like other manufacturers, have approved it. What you can't run your Freelander on is the stuff made out of recycled cooking oil - old indirection diesels are fine, and indeed people run them on up to 50% brand new cooking oil when that is cheaper than diesel, too. You see people with old Shoguns, Transits etc filling up outside supermarkets from litre bottles of whatever is the cheapest cooking oil. Trevor '60 reg SD4 XS (long gone!) |

I used to run the Disco 2 on 50% biodiesel from recycled cooking oil, and the engine ran much better on it. VW allow their engines to run on 100% bio. A lot of London taxis now run on it.

If you mean the 5-10% stuff, you already are. All diesel in the UK has a proportion of bio diesel in now, by law. Trevor '60 reg SD4 XS (long gone!) |
