Quite strange reading these posts, seems to me that those who slag them off must have been trying to get more than the car was worth.

I got £1500 for a 10 year old FLR1 WITH 130.mls and in poor condition, scratches everywhere sun roof fu..ed.Took of side steps and rear bull bar, put a spare on with almost no tread and kept the original.
No main dealer would give me more than £1000 with all the extras on against an in stock FLR2
I was honest I told WeBuyAnyCar.com about the condition, covered in scatches as it was meat to be used off road, the mileage ect, quick drive by their tester guy and the deal was done in less than 10 mins.
Paid the admin fee but did not need the cash straight away so no extra payment was taken.
Now I have £350 (min) in extras to sell on e-bray so I recon I will have got £1800.

And I am one happy pixie, cant praise them enough and would make them my 1st port of call next time without hesitation. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.

I thought this thread was generally positive towards them to be honest, but you are right that a lot of issues stem from unrealistic hopes. But it's the nature of the beast to want top dollar for our car, yet want huge discounts off the new purchase.

I believe they occupy the mid ground between trading in and selling private and they must be doing more right than wrong as they are still in business. My only complaint is the sodding advert song Evil or Very Mad I hate it with a passion.

And as I mentioned earlier, selling private may get more for your car but it aint without its agro. I once had a guy turn up and try to get a couple of hundred quid off because it was red, not blue that he wanted. Rolling Eyes For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

Hummm.

Targeted advertising

Having been to webuyanycar. con yada yada yada...

Now, on numerous web sites I receive targed adverts, fully customised
with the details of my offer from the singing car people
the advert includes a pic of my car, price offered, nearest webuy.. dealers etc etc

Halfords a& BnQ lso do similar targeted / customised adverts based on cookie data, and
have pictures of recent items viewed.

delete those cookies Smile

Cookies deleted, no more advets:)

this is just to "orwellian 1984" for my liking...

I am really at a loss as to why you are bothered at all by these targeted ads? They are really not doing you any harm except reminding you that you have an outstanding wbac quote.

I find them very useful. I asked for the quote so why shouldn't they remind me of it?

Sure, delete the cookie if you want, why not, but why get all bothered by it.

This kind of specific advertising will increase so you had best get used to it or you will have a very stressed online life!

Just for a bit off fun I ran my details through their valuation.(FLR2 HSE)
I got offered £475 more than I paid for the vehicle 3 months ago and that was after their Admin fee was knocked off. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.
