Not many seen on Ebay and when they are the postage is out of this world. Why not go to Halfords and buy something appropriate. No one will see it in the boot. |

I remember someone on here saying that a good little bottle jack was far easier to use and source. |

One problem I have is - I don't know what a Freelander jack looks like. I was assuming it is a big scissor jack - single sided? - double sided?

The jack is like a slightly more reinforced or better built ordinary one, a single scissor jack. mind you the same holds true on the bigger Land Rovers. As for where the wheelbrace etc fits, it's under the spare wheel. Bigger Land rovers. there is a hatch on the right hand side in the rear comaprtment. |

I thought the jack a bit flimsy when I had a puncture......The wheelbrace is quite short, it clips to the jack for storage. Having been caught out many years ago with a standard brace not coping with garage tightened nuts I always carry an extending brace with socket style fitting. I had to buy a new socket for the FR2 Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

The Standard Jack & brace is a cheap flimsy affair, swapped mine for a small bottle jack and a extendable brace and socket wrapped in a towel (to stop rattling in the wheel well) This was posted on here sometime back and it was excellent advice

Machine mart do a standard scissor jack for a tenner that I would image will do the job and fit in the spare wheel well. For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days. |

How much lift do you need to take off a wheel?
