In my experience, it does pretty much the published figures. On my journey to work into Leeds, which is 26 miles, a mix of rural 'A' and 'B' roads with some very steep hills, 12 miles stop start motorway then a couple of city centre miles. I often get over 40mpg on the trip computer.

I'd certainly settle for that but only getting about 32mpg at present - still under 500 miles and not getting any longer runs. My CRV quoted 44mpg and consistently gave 40/42 so 36/38 would be acceptable from my SD4. Wonder what the towing 1500 kg figure at 65/70mph will be like? CRV used to give about 24mpg.
