O.K. then if not the G-55 AMG

What about the Lincoln Navigator or Cadilac Escalade ?

Both of them would turn anyone into a Driving God.

Toyota Landcruiser seems to be the one favoured by the Dessert dwelling people. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.

When we lived in Queensland a local guy bought a couple of Hummers to do tours up to Cook Town via the Daintree. What he hadn't accounted for was that every other car doing that route was a toyota of some description (Hilux, Land Cruiser etc) and thus all the ruts were a certain width. He got stuck a number of times due to this and also in that the reliabiity was nothing in comparison to the Toyotas who had to pull him out a few times. Needless to say within 6 months he had sold them and bought land cruisers.
Basically in OZ if you live in the rainforest / outback areas the only thing you drive is a Toyota with hardly any exceptions. The missus - SD4 HSE - Black - 2012
Me - BMW 330d Saloon - Black - 2011

2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

I think a Defender 90 is the vehicle to beat. But my last one came on rubbish tyres for offroad use - some BF Goodrich ATs made a fantastic difference.

I still miss it...

This one was stage 2 tuned (larger intercooler, remapped, disco final drive) and would go a very scary 100 mph plus (where legal) as well as being unstoppable off road.

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green  Trevor
