The recommended size for the smaller wheels have taller side walls than the 18" so the overall size is the same.

If you buy 17" rims just be sure to purchase 235 x 65 x 17 tyres, it will then give you the same rolling circumference as the 18" ones.

Agree with Viking - but then we know better than most concerning wheel size and tyre types 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Her Ladyship's FL2 runs on two sets of alloys both 17" GS style - one dressed in Conti (my choice) winter [November>April] tyres and one in Goodyear (factory fitted) summer [April>November] tyres. That way if she "kerbs" an alloy we have lots of spares - in fact we have 12 GS alloys in total - all at the moment in pristine condition. |
