There is another thread on here some where regarding this, 17" will be ok but there seems to be a bit of confusion to whither 16" will be ok. If you need a set of Rims and Tyres you could try one of the site sponsors http://www.ajstyres.co.uk/special_offers.html a call I dealt with them a month or so ago and they were very helpful. |

We knew this already but for the record I can confirm that 17" OE Freelander 2 wheels do indeed fit the SD4 - did it today with plenty clearance.

Actually all the MY2011 cars have the same 300mm vented front dics and 302mm solid rear discs regardless of engine. Only the 3.2 i6 has the 316mm brakes. So the 16" wheels should fit no problem. It's purely down to specification, 16" wheels are only available on the 'S' model, and the 'S' is the only model not available with the SD4 engine. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

nothing to do with SD4 being higher max speed requiring a different speed rating tyre? (He says clutching at straws?) |

I wouldn't have thought so, the TD4 has a top speed of 112mph and the SD4 is 118mph. But after looking on the net, some European Countries have the SD4 available with 16" wheels. Cars sold in the EU must have a certificate of conformity, which does explain all technical data as well as allowed changes without going through Gov. administrations.
