Light on dash

Hello wife just phoned as I am working away and said over the past few days she has had a bleep then a iceicle light pop up on the dash only stops on a few seconds then goes off, is it the sensor that indicates that the temperature is low and puts it into 4wd mode automatically or am I way off track, she has a 57 reg gs with terrain response, thanks in advance for your replies

Chris

You're right, it is the sensor warning her of a low external temperature but it is a warning only, not an action as your car is already in 4WD.

Just a visual and audio warning to the cold weather

Or I told the wife on a old car, its a warning to say it's about to snow, which 5mins later it did Whistle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

ebygum32,

If the outside temp is below freezing (and snow is on the ground) and you have been driving in snow mode ? Turn of the ignition and turn it back it may stay in snow mode and not reset to normal mode.

But your car is always in four wheel drive ( which ever mode you in)

have a look at page 112 to 114 in the your handbook for more info. Thumbs Up

ebygum32,

when you do get to drive the FL2 in the snow I think you will be impressed, with how good the snow mode works.
I only got stuck when the snow was about 18" (approx 45cm) deep, best car I have driven in snow. Bow down

Don't try sand mode in the snow unless you have plenty of space (its turns turns the FL2 into a four wheel drift machine Rolling with laughter )

Its an automatic function. You will get this warning beep and visual signal at start-up if the outside temperature is +4 centigrade or below, or if driving and the temperature suddenly falls below +4 C. If yours does not do this there may be an error on the system. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Thanks for your replys guys I think I may have to get this one checked out as I've never heard any bleeps or seen any snow flakes and it's been a lot colder lately down to minus 3 the other night Sad

As I said my Kuga used to go green and chime at +4 then when it dropped to 0 the snow flake turned red and chimed again.

You wont see an icecle inside the Freely either, just a snowflake. The piddely little beep is very descreet, but the Kuga's apparantly louder and presumably vulgar Green and Red flashing lights and Big Ben chimes would have been better for some early morning drivers Laughing 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
