I had wondered about these "super fuels" so have used Vmax diesel for the last 5 or so fillups. The mpg was noticeably better than on normal diesel - enough to balance the extra price. I was told that it takes some time for the ECU to adapt the engine parameters to the new quality of fuel.

Get a manual gearbox and your mpg improves instantly - even with your lead boot |

I hope all you guys using Shell fuel have a Shell Drivers Club or V-Power Club card. If not, your missing cash rebates.

I have used Millers additive for years but I noticed when I got my 2011MY it says in the warranty exclusions that no additives should be used in either the oil or fuel. Andyfr |

Thanks - I'm getting near the end of my 5L tin anyway and with your comment and the introduction of the new Shell fuels, maybe I won't bother to replenish it; cost adds about 28p per tankful of fuel! Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red

I have always used V Power, when we first got the car, 420 to 450 miles was about the average we got to a tank full.
