You are quite right. Just thought that as MOTs are fairly new on this model it might be comforting to know there were no problems as far as I was concerned at least.

MOT Failure Points

Hi everybody,

My GS is due for first MOT in 4 weeks time so i'm checking it over. (2010MY with 34K )
The handbrake was appalling due to corrosion inside the brake drum, adjusters very stiff, all sorted today.
Ive noted the front drivers side electrical harness at the Headlight would fail because its rubbing on the steel inner wing.

Please can others reply on recent FL2 failure points so I can take a look? it should help other Freel members as well.

Regards to all

Only ever had a LR fail once, and that was a numpty who couldn't work out how to use his own brake test equipment. Had it passed by someone else an hour later but couldn't be bothered to appeal - it seemed a fairly complicated process. Never had any problems with the FL2.

Hi,
Had mine's 1st MOT'd Y'day by the dealer as part of the purchase deal, passed without probs, after they fixed the reported (by me), very weak handbrake, which I think is a fairly common fault.

Also had a wine/grinding noise on full left hand lock which they resolved by cleaning the power steering filter and topping up the oil, we will see, glad there is a years warrenty!

Only upset is car was returned with a small 'ding' in the drivers door. Very small pin sized dent, but for sure not there before, so very annoying, on an otherwise unmarked 10 plate car. Due credit to the dealer though, no arguements and 'Mr. Dentmaster' or the like will be calling at my home address on Tuesday to resolve it at their cost, I guess these things can happen in a busy workshop Kola is the big solid black German Shepherd, Dobbie is.......a breed you've never heard of......yet;)

When the works van went in for a new clutch and DMF the dealer phoned and said they had scratched the door with the lifting jack. They were very apologetic and repainted the door for us. The dealer doesnt have a paint shop so use a company which is about 5 minutes walk away from where I work, so wasnt much of an hassel to pick it up.

The same dealer cant MOT LWB vans so they reccomended a company in Huddersfield. They failed the van on its rear brakes (and changed them without first letting us know) and gave an advisory that the front pads were half worn. I pointed out when I picked the van up it had just been serviced and that the rear brakes were reported to be down to 40% and that the front pads were only replaced two weeks earlier! They got very defensive about it. Needless to say we wont be using them again! Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
