Tow Bar

What sort of tow bar do you reccommend for a freelander 2 se spec, ideally looking for one that the bumper does not have to be cut and not a swan neck one as i am looking to add a plate between the bar and the ball for the cycle carrier, also electrics are they just a simple plug in or do you have to strip a lot down

cheers

chris

Have you done a search on here for "towbar" - you'll find a fair bit to read....

are just a few.

I think most, if not all, towbars will require a small cut under the bumper which will be virtually invisible. LR-specisfic wiring kits should just plug in but will need a visit to a dealer for coding. By-pass relay kits may be more difficult to wire up.

Some towbar fitters might have the equipment to code the car.

Witter do a detachable Flange Towbar also I don't think it requires a bumper cut but it's not cheap.

Got a PCT one on mine - no bumper cut - I know 'cos I fitted it. Only cut you need is two holes behind the nearside reflector to allow access to two fixing bolts - standard fro all bars if you don't want to remove the rear bumper.

Bought it from a trader on ebay - called DIY towbars (I think) for less than £100

It has a bolt on flange suitable for a bike rack mount - my only observation is that it sticks out a long way!! Never actually walked in to it but it would destroy the departure angle off-road!!! There's always a way forward!

2011 Freelander Td4 GS 150 - Rimini Red - in its place - Better x far x 4!!
