Folding Mirrors

Like most Freelander 2s, my door mirrors fold when locking / unlocking the doors. Anyone know if this feature can be disabled without taking a trip to the dealer and spending £s.
Thanks,
Chris

I was worried about these when I realised they close every time you lock the car.

It would be better if they didn't open until the ignition is turned on as with my Leon...it just saves them opening and closing when you want to load or unload the car.

Saying that they do seem to be pretty hardy so far touch wood! Thumbs Up Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

I really miss the folding mirrors now I've sold my FL2 and the new car doesn't have them Censored Ford.

If you manually close the mirrors (press L & R buttons together) they stay folded until YOU decide to open them again.

I used the 'folded mirrors' to check I'd locked the car when leaving it in a car park (or when parked on the driveway).

I must admit I have started to fold the mirrors manually when parking at home or work because in these places i normally lock and unlock the car a few times during the day to get things in and out. The reason for asking is that I'm not sure how reliable the motors will be over time.
Thanks for the comments,
Chris

you need to also watch for frost as they can freeze up, and when you open the car they try to unfold and put strain on the motors.
