Radio tuning

Not a big problem this, just a bit of a niggle ..... anyone else experienced this?

I've got the bog standard radio/cd set up (shows Land Rover CD 400 at start up), although I’m now on my second head unit because of a cd problem. The radio problem has occurred on both head units. I have a number of stations tuned into the presets; radio reception on the move seems OK, with the radio occasionally retuning itself to stay with my selected station (say Radio2 - its OK I'm 50+ - I'm a TOG Laughing Laughing ).

The problem is that quite frequently when I stop (and I do stop frequently - again I'm a TOG Laughing Laughing ) then restart the engine the radio looses its tuning; so the station that was being received perfectly well when I stopped sounds dreadful when I restart. All I have to do to cure the problem is select a different preset (which it finds no problem) then select the original preset (which it comes back to no problem). It’s no big deal, just slightly annoying, because I don’t believe it is meant to work this way.

Something else I have noticed is that both rear three quarter window panels have wires running through them, what I assume these days is the aerial. However only one of the window panels appears to be connected to anything (on my car it’s the right side panel that is connected). I’ve mentioned this at the dealers before and been told that they only ever connect one panel dependent on which country you live in … No I don’t understand the logic, but that is what I was told …

Has anyone else looked at/noticed which of the window aerials is connected? Is it one or the other or both?

When I first bought the car the dealer had told me that the wire not connected is a TV aerial. If that's correct, I wouldn't mind a hybrid tv on mine (ok Carl, yes the replacement one, ok? Twisted Evil )
