England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

Placed my order on 28th June with expectation of a late September delivery. Delivery currently predicted for 5th November. Talking to a Dealer yesterday I was told there was a delay in production (not specified) which may explain why build to order is taking longer than hoped.

RRS engines are the same as the D4.

D4's are selling like the proverbial hot cakes (mine was Oct build and is now back to 'sometime in January 2011...') and so they are stealing RRS capacity to try and play catch up for D4 orders... don't think this is related to F2 shortages!

However, the Fun Prevention Officer's F2 was due 1st Dec and is now back to 29th Dec (er,,, how? This is during factory shut-down for Christmas!) so will watch with interest!

Ordered MY2011 on 15 Sep - original ETA was mid-Nov. Mr. Green Now expecting the car with LPR by next week Thumbs Up

According to LPR the LR QA-line is taking longer to adjust to MY2011 differences, so higher-level QA than end of MY2010 line.

2011 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Lago Grey

Hi, I seemed to have been very lucky. Went to local gargae and they had a GS in Lago grey available. i suspect it was going to be a demonstrator but they sold it to me. The next available was in December. It is standard model with full size spare.
Never had a LR before and am feeling a bit apprehensive about its relaibility but we shall see. Despite its stop/start and the new engine, the fuel consumption still falls way behind what the book says. Also note that the oil level seems to be falling after only 850 miles, which is not something I've experienced in previous cars. Otherwise, it seems fine at the moment.
I'll be pleased to chat to others re their early experiences of the MY11 model.

It's not unusual for any diesels to use a bit of oil when new, I think its been mentioned on here before. Look for any leaks but it is probabley just burning a bit while it beds in. Keep your eye on it and it should improve with a few more miles done.

GSMY11... enjoy the F2 - the Fun Prevention Officer has had one for three years and it has had washer fluid in one end and diesel in the other so hope that yours is as trouble free.

We have just ordered the replacement which should be here in Dec.

As for oil consumption... you want to try my (outgoing) Audi which uses fully synthetic (as in GBP20 per litre...) at an alarming rate, as did a previous A4... looking forward to my D4, due in January!

Good luck with yours!

Since Ta Ta took over they are only building to order and NOT to fill stockyard.

They'll be saying Ta-ta to customers if they carry on with that practice!

My son in law works there as a line manager. Rolling Eyes

They are certainly trying to reduce the stock and build to order, however there is still stockl out there at the right dealers.

We have 6 available for Nov and 5 for Dec, however we are a large dealer so may have more than average.

James Thumbs Up
