Weird high pitched noise & wing mirror judder

Ever since owning the car I have pondered what the very high pitched noise is when I stop the engine and get out. As I leave the car to lock it and walk away, I can always hear this noise which then fades away after a number of seconds. Anyone know what this is?

Also, the passenger side wing mirror has started juddering but ONLY when opening not when closing. Any cure for this without involving LR? WD40 perhaps?

For the mirror, yep, I'd try WD40.

For the whistle, have a search around, it's been identified before. (can't remember of top of me head). We Don't Care About Pot Holes !!

Strange, this question seems to appear about this time every year, could be due to dust impregnation during the summer then when the tempreture drops after the the mirrors start juddering.

As for the whine it will also happen if you just have the ignition switched on for any reason.

Follow the advice on the thread I had started (link above)

I just used some PTFE lube, and it worked and been fine every since.

Found this;

The ECU is actually keeping the electric motor for the throttle body active, part of the reason is to 'shake' the throttle butterfly in the hope of dislodging any carbon build up, thus avoiding a jamming of the butterfly at the idle position, and thus avoiding making the throttle motor work harder to over-come the jamming. And yes, it will happen every ignition cycle, just like the ABS pump checking itself every start-up/move-off.
