The fitting kit requires you to remove blanking plugs and fit supplied bosses, these should be sealed with a sealant that is not supplied - I used silicone.

Get the dealer to do it as I did as if they break something they have to fix it! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Thanks for all the tips, job done in 90 minutes, worst bit was the cross bar with the four bolts that were pigs to tighten. 2009 FL2 GS
