New FL2 specs

Just in case others hadn't noticed Land Rover have updated their website to cover the revised FL2 including this spec sheet

http://www.landrover.com/content/gb/en/PDF...DF_GWS.pdf

Interesting spec increases for the S model - now with Terrain Response as standard

You cannot beat the GS model for a balance between price and equipment. What Car? review agrees with this.

I had tried an XS model before I bought mine and thought it was gonna be too dear. I had heated seats when I had a Fiesta ST but that was full leather where they are more needed. I don't miss them with cloth seats. Not worried about bits of silver trim, sat nav or elec seats either. The HSE is too dear for my income so GS it was.

I went for a GMFV deal and ended up with an £1100 cash back due to Stratstone being able to put it through as a fleet car via my employers but I own it and my employers have nothing to do with it so just a bloody good deal. I got cold climate pack thrown in too. Heated windscreen and washer jets. Heated windscreen is a bloody brilliant invention.

Perhaps lookers can comment on the deal I got. Is this something you do for certain customers depending on who they work for? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Just some quick sums.....buying an S and adding extras comes out £2K cheaper than the GS equivalent..only difference is no bluetooth or MP3

Must of changed cos of including terrain response. The S with all the toys on my GS worked out a fair bit dearer than the GS. Plus I don't like the wheels on the S. They might change the wheels with the new one. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Yes it has changed - I was talking about the facelift. The old S model was a bit bleak!

Yep, But in terms of resale/trade-in value it will still be a 'S' not an 'S' with 'GS' Spec.

So the TD4 HSE will be technically downgraded as if I read it right it loses the colour coded bottom half Evil or Very Mad & you only get it on the SD4 HSE which is £1000 dearer for a higher powered version that you could get a mobile tuner to remap for under £300! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.
(Past) RR Evoque Dynamic Lux Si4 In Firenze Red.
(Past) RR Evouque Pure Tech in Barollo Black with bespoke Firenze Red colour coding.
(Present) Freelander Metropolis 2015 MY In Santorini Black with Ivory Premium Leather.

Are we certain the power difference is just a remap? There might be some mechanical differences - pistons/con rods/crank?
I'm a bit disappointed that the 190bhp model is only auto. This probably points to the fact that the clutch is just barely adequate for the lower power models, including my current one.

Yes has to be part of the consideration I agree - depends how long you plan to keep the car. However it does show the GS is overpriced in comparison with S model.

I checked with several dealers and it is just a remap, no other mechanical differences. Andyfr

The local Dealer near me confirms the same, no mechanical difference to the engine just tweeked software.

Yes unfortunately. The manual delivers the power more smoothly for obvious reasons but I suspect it would have cost LR too much money to introduce a manual as well which would possibly of needed a stronger clutch as well. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Yes just the auto...as some members have had dual mass flywheel issues + gear change issues (Jurking) you could make a guess that the manual set up cannot take anymore torque.

Does anyone know if the auto SD4 will be dual clutch? Cos the jerking on kick down is one of the things I hate on the autos I have had as courtesy cars. Dual clutch would help this I think. Also, I wonder if the new setup will stop the over-revving with the auto. Might have an auto next time if they cured those issues.

Perhaps they will save such additions for the FL3 Question LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
