The problem I have with izmir blue is that it looks a bit anemic and less upmarket than the other colours in my opinion. The stornorway black or silver are not bad colours at all the black makes it look like a mini range rover sport as it accentuates the bright silver trim

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Stornoway Grey

Hi Gibbergump
Thanks for information, I have reserved the Stornaway Grey (SE) but can change to Izma Blue when it comes in If I prefer it, ready for Jan1st.
Once again my dealer rec. the Stornaway Grey with black interier as a lasting and saleable colour

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Stornoway Grey

Hi EJ
Thank you, I think the black will be a problem in keeping clean, some years ago I had a Capri (John Player Special, Black and Gold), when I washed it all the leather smears showed, never looked clean!
Still not seen the Stornaway Grey, I agree with your oppinion with the Izmir Blue, any one yet seen the Stornawar Grey in the Light?, if so what do you think?

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey

My local LR dealer has its first FL2, so just been ans had a good look around it. Noticed a couple of points others might want to look out for when you get to see and drive the car. On the test drive I got earlier in the week we were limited on speed because of traffic condition and didn't make 5 or 6 th gear. The gear change is sprung to the 3rd & 4th plain. Going over for 1st & 2nd is no problem but coming over to the 5th & 6Th plain there is nothing to stop you coming even further over and on to the reverse plain; I forsee a few baulked changes into 5th where the lever goes over too far.

Also notice a head room concern. The car I've be in today had the double sunroof and as we know sunroof's reduce the level of the headlining. This seems to reduce the height of the grabs handles and to the point where I was striking my head on it, so have a good play with seat positions if you get a chance.

Asked about colours and was told by the salesman that the Stornoway Grey is same as in the Range Rover, don't know the models well enough to comment on that, maybe others do.

Stornorway looks great in sunlight in my opinion it is probbably the overall safe bet especially with a beige interior or a sporty black one. I am looking at getting one early next year not sure what colour myself yet maybe sumatra with a cream interior and definitely the accessory spoiler and 19" wheels.

had our test drive today. On the height issue my Allan didn't seem to have any problems in either front seats. He is only 6ft 3" so I guess if your taller you may have problems.

Got to disagree on the gear change we covered about 20 miles today on our own and never once had a problem. Took the car a mixture of roads had plenty of gear changes could have changed gears all day it was that good.

Now on the colour front. I have chosen what I like to call Tango Orange very nice colour and I had the courage to go with it.

What I noticed about the colours. Now I looked at Black - Stornoway Grey - Silver - and my Tango.

The motor exterior looks bigger in the Tango and smallest in the Stornoway Grey. Don't get me wrong like the grey but think it suits the RRS and D3 more but only IMHO. Fiona

It was an Orange one I saw at Gaydon... very nice in the sun (summer with blue skies) !

Was the sun out today ? If not does it look good on the traditional light of the Uk ?

it was dull, raining and still had the transport wax on it. It looked good you could see the paint colour change depending on the angle you looked from.

It was parked beside the stornoway grey. funny how colours make a vehicle Smile Fiona

don't worry I will. I'm lucky that Allan likes the colour he's a bit of a polishing freak so I think hs see's the potential in how cool it will look when nice and shiny. Plus it will fit in our garages down the road at our other house. Fiona
