First thing I turned off. The chime got on my tit's after my Mrs insisted on taking off her seatbelt 100yds from work and again when she gets in, she takes another 100yds before she's settled and puts it on.

I'm here you save your life! I'm superman! There is no need for a moral speech, we all know why we have seatbelts! I use it every day. I just want to be able to move my car without that annoying beeeeeep! We have a red warninglight in the dash. That's enough for me. If you have to have a fu..ing siren going of to remind you to put your belt on than that's up to you. Let people do what they want. FL2, TD4 HSE The flaming Orange! |

Where do we draw the line with letting people do what they want? Rape or Murder perhaps? I don't know about your country but in the UK it is against the law to drive (or be a passenger) in a moving vehicle without wearing a seat belt. (Certain circumstances Excepted, NOT including 'the wife likes to shuffle about a bit after setting off') |

So to drive from my house front to the garage, or from house to my tractor shed/air compressor I have to belt up or live with the bong bong.

Choice is good, where it doesn't directly effect others why not?

The real issue here is civil liberties to what extent are other people (MPs) allowed to make decisions on your behalf.

What about unrestrained rear seat passengers that may be flung forward into the person sitting directly in front of them? And are you really suggesting that the government generates more profit (not revenue and not to mention the cost of clogging up the court system) from speeding fines than crashes caused by speeding motorists cost the public purse? (emergency services, Council highways dept & The NHS Etc.) |

Always wash the car before leaving site for two reasons - so the lights are effective, and it keeps the dust down for the nieghbours. Hate wearing overalls and safety boots so yes. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner |

That's the dumbest comment I've heard! We are talking about wearing a seat belt not raping og killing people....... In the end it's up to me if I want to be able to role my car from my front door to my garage without that annoying beeeeep! When I hit the public roads I always wear them. I just don't get why you get so about people removing a damn annoying sound from their car!? FL2, TD4 HSE The flaming Orange! |
