England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Santorini Black
running pirelli on rear axle and contis on front

May be a silly query but would like an opinion on whether its a problem to replace front tyres with a different manufacturer to rear tyres
Thanks BSG

Personally I prefer to have the same make on all 4 wheels, but as long as the same make are on the same axle, and they are the same size as the front one's then there will be no problem. ______________________

I would not do this mate. With any company. Get yourself 4 new tires. My rear tires needed changing as they were at 2mm but the rear ones were 4-5mm. No second thoughts. I changed all 4 to a michelin diam for £588 (I shopped around as the first price I got was £1100). If you want to stick to wranglers (great tire, I did 31k in them) I found them for £470...

Apart from the potential financial advantage, as staed, there is no issue mechanicaly of having different manufacturers split fornt / rear. As stated, don't mix on the same axle. We Don't Care About Pot Holes !!

Having just replaced my tyres on the front I was adviced against different makes as I was considering putting a different make on than my rear conti's

The reason hay gave was down to different grip provided by different brands, right or wrong I opted to keep the same Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

13500 just over a year old at service it had 6mm but I got a screw in the front which could not be repaired

Tyre insurance paid for one, I paid for the other to keep tread the same and the one I paid for was doing the conti wear out on the edge (n/s tyre) Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
