Oh ok. I guess Satellite is our version of digital.

I also noticed when I was in the UK y'all get FM stations with an even number for the decimal.

Such as 98.4

In the USA I've only seen them end with an odd number.

That's right, my Mustang over here struggles with some stations Rolling Eyes
I have heard of frequency shifters you can plug in to get round the problem.

BTW, will try my AM in the morning Confused

Well let's bring this thread back to life!

I too have noticed (well the other half to be honest) that the AM has stopped working recently.
I'll call the dealer tomorrow, hopefully I'm still just within the LR warranty else I'll have to see just how good my 3rd party extended warranty is Confused

AM reception is terrible in the freelander 2. I think the antenna is on the side window at the back, where these lines on the glass meet the boot.

Thanks Alex Thumbs Up

Does that mean a new radio or can this part be changed?

Everything else works fine with the radio.

What is an IAM anyway???

The audio system, on the dash, is composed from:
1. The frontal part (the one with buttons) named ICM - Infotainment Control Module and
2. The back part (the one that contains the most of the electronics, cd-changer mechanism, etc.) named IAM - Integrated Audio Module.
Those two are sticked together by a connector.
So in a way, yes, you'll need a new radio, less the buttons. Laughing

Had mine done under warranty. While you wait job when the AM module is in. I don't think it's a whole new radio because all my FM settings had been retained.

The stations are memorized on the ICM. (the front part)
I was kidding before when I've said "less the buttons".
Yes, from an user point of view, the front part seems to be just a panel with some buttons.
But the ICM isn't just a set of buttons. It's a complex piece of hardware that controls all audio functions.

Presumably, out of warranty this isn't something Land Rover are going to want to know about?

Or is there a case to suggest that the radio is 'not fit for purpose'?

Is it possibe to get the IAM - Integrated Audio Module separately? Does anyone have any idea of a part number or cost? Is it easy to swap over?

Thanks
