Hey, just joined up your forums. I joined some other LR forums but there was hardly any posts. Looks like yours has a lot more community to it. My main reason for joining is because I'm looking to get pixel metallic trim for my 2008 LR2. And just to lurk/see what other LR2 owners are talking about. Smile Anyway thanks!

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

Hello all - just ordered an HSE Auto 2010MY in Santorini Black with Almond leather, privacy glass and xenons, delivery some time in July. These forums look great, I'm already investigating how to turn the seat belt chime off (for driveway manoevers only of course) and we haven't even got the car yet....

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Santorini Black

Hi,

I'm coming back to the L/R fold as freelander owner after the last chancellor made it un affordable for me to run a Disco as a company car. (I've been away in more than one sense for a few years).

By the end of next month hopefully, I shall be driving an XS in black.
M.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Lago Grey

Hi , My first Land Rover - v nice so far - nearly 300 miles.

1. Can anyone direct me to the best way to jack up the car , ie is it preferable to use hydraulic jack or buy
a scissor jack . Does a Freelander 1 jack , as seen on ebay , do the job? I've read the link to the jacking point locations .

2. Does anyone else have a problem locking load covers spring loaded tabs into the off side slot? Mine is impossible.

3. I want to look after the underbody and thought I would start with the obvious ie , cavities and the rusty drive shafts, hubs and brake disks ( not the braking surfaces of course ). What have other owners done here?

jacking http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic5978.html?highlight=jacking

boot cover, maybe the side panels are incorrectly fitted? I had that once on another car resulting in the parcel shelf falling into the boot time after time, fixed by dealer eventually, his first attempt was to steal a new parcel shelf from a car in the showroom Rolling Eyes

drive shafts do rust, often mentioned on here. Also the locking wheel nuts do too ,rust comes out from where the freewheeling cover spins and spread across the nut Neutral At work

Thanks CG,
I can see what the problem is with the cover .
The rounded end sits in a 'D' shape cup but even when pushed down hard the tabs on the cover refuse to go into the slot. They are just too high or the slot in the moulded side panel is out of spec.
I'm seeing the dealer soon and will try to get the load cover sorted with a few other minor snags. Like no tyre repair kit.

Thanks for the tip on rusty locking nuts... will try to stop that before it starts. Neutral
