Read the handbook page 45-46 for full description of the alarm.
Don't worry, either one push or double push, the alarm system is armed.
In double push mode the alarm is set in "enhanced mode". Laughing

Thanks Alex. All the best

Now I have another problem.

Most of you probably fed up with me but I had the same problem with windows opening automtically.

Car was fully locked and keys put on a shelf. Came to the car this aftenoon and found all windows were down but the mirrors still folded. This is not a key fob mishap.

From what I gather from forum Dealers will not be interested.

I have had a succession of problems with this very expensive car and very depressed.

Not an exclusive LR problem, some VW's do that, including the polo my mother used to have, one time it did it in the pouring rain whilst she was in the supermarket Neutral

Don't write the dealer off just yet, some of them are good.
I find yelling and shouting does the trick Laughing Actually I've never been back to the dealer since buying the car two years ago. Its been back for 2 services and the heater recall but not for any other fault yet. but after owning several defenders, I have every faith in my dealership mainly because its owner run not a chain dealership At work

Just a thought......
Logically speaking, the windows can only go down when a radio type signal is sent to or picked up by the vehicle.
Therefore, there could/must be a strong transmitter close or near to your house.
Let me give you an example: Quite often my DAB radio will emit an electronic sound just as a mobile phone call arrives to mine/my wife's mobile.
Have a look around where you live and look for large aerials/transmitters.
Local ham radio operators sometimes have very powerful transmitters.
So do taxi firms.
Some doorbells interfere with other doorbells.
Especially when the frequencies are the same or close.
I suppose that, even your internet connection, if it is wireless, transmits a signal.
Try turning your your wireless connection off.
The last resort is to purchase an extremely large sheet of kitchen foil and wrap the car in that. Rolling with laughter

Has anybody found a solution for this problem?

I'm having the same issue recently, park the car, don't touch the keys, and the windows drop.

It's happened 3 times in the last 2 days. Luckily we haven't had any rain!

Thanks

Nigel

I witnessed something rather odd like this a couple of year ago at a shooting event. It's very close to a military camp and training area. Someone came back from the car park saying that he couldn't get into his car as the fob didn't work. Then as the event finished we found that about half a dozen other cars (not all LandRovers) wouldn't work either. One by one the car park emptied of cars that would work leaving this stranded group and after about an hour one suddenly unlocked and eventually all except one was left (an early Discovery) which came back to life the next morning.
The obvious explanation was that some electronic device was being tested on the military range but we have no proof, just one big coincidence? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Yes maybe it is something interfering with it.

Called LR Assist as I was concerned about leaving it overnight if the windows are going to open. They sent the AA who took the door control fuses out so the windows don't work at all.

He did find a fault code on the alarm system "interior monitor sensor missing message" but unsure if that's related. A search on this forum and on Google didn't find anything.

Just so that you know......LR Assist are in fact the AA. They wear a different uniform, and drive a LR Branded van, but if they are busy, it will be delegated to a non-dedicated division of the same company. Next time you speak to an LR Assist chap, ask him which part of Land Rover he works for.....his answer will surprise you! Foraging near Gaydon....

Yes I have had two at the house they both said that they used to work for JLR but were TUPE'd out to the AA and still had JLR terms and conditions but that there were only about 8 of them left. They complained that they now drove a van rather than a Disco and that they often got stuck visiting farms and the like where a a lot of Land Rover customers live and the customer often has to pull them out. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

As an update for anybody else that has the same problem:
Land Rover diagnosed the problem as a faulty key fob. They replaced the fob with a new one under warranty and since then, touch wood, the windows have stayed up after locking.

A faulty key fob sounds right to me as when my fob was very worn it would open windows when I was unlocking the car

I have also not been able to unlock the at when a battery powered drive way alarm was picking someone up and trait ting to the sensor inside the house the two signal must cancel each other out Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

My windows have done this on a few occasions, thought i was having a senior moment. Not ideal atall. But given the electrical problems associated with the FL2 I'm not surprised at this. I'd like to think its a signal issue as discussed.

I've had a new key fob for 2 weeks now and in that time it's been ok.
