Freelander off-road in 4x4 magazine

If you want to see my Freelander making a splash have a look at http://www.great-cars.co.uk/wallpapers.html , middle of second row.

The June edition of 4x4 magazine has a five-page article based on some greenlaning we did in it. 2007 Baltic Blue SE TD4 Auto

Driving one handed with your arm out of the window, wheel deep in muddy water - you're brave - did they not teach you anything at LRE!!!! Laughing

Hope they put the bow wave in later and you were actually stationary!!

Looks good fun - where was it? There's always a way forward!

The photo was partially posed, in that we had driven through the puddle, then the phoptographer (my son) thought it would make a good photograph, so I dropped him off in the dry, backed up, and drove through again. As we hadn't taken radios that day the window was open for communication.

The bow wave is real, though!

It was taken in Violets Lane, Hertfordshire, a ford that is about 1.5km long, but was only wet in places on that day.

Well spotted, christian 138 - but no, I was only a contractor needing a badge to park on one of their sites. 2007 Baltic Blue SE TD4 Auto

Spoke to some one else a while ago that was raving about Violets Lane - longest ford in the UK?

He had driven it when there was quite a bit more water in it in his FL1 - snorkelled and sealed - but admitted it been a bit hairy at times! Thumbs Up There's always a way forward!
