Get a second opinion, read a few time about dealers saying things need replacing and they was still ok and would have passed a MOT Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

Get an independent to check them, should they need replacing then as long as you use genuine parts while under warranty you wont have any problems if you have a warranty claim. Remember you can save a lot of money by not letting the stealers have the priveledge. |

I would agree to get an independant opinion, and have a look yourself as you may be able to see how much meat is left on them without even taking the wheel off.

I hope I'm right in saying that a brake pad check is not something that you or I are supposed to do every week like our oil and water etc. which i'm sure like me, everyone does |

Got it back from the dealer without getting the pads done; still safe & legal got a couple of thousand miles to sort them. Wife's a bit heavy on them anything that will last a bit longer |

You could be right there, I'll have a look next time i'm with ours, there'll be a cable going into the caliper somewhere that'll be quite obvious if it's there. I'll be surprised if there isn't one as other LR products have had them for some years Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

There is a cable running down each strut but that is for the abs sensors, there are no brake wearing sensors on any freelander 2 to date |
