It wont start!!!

Any ideas what could be up with our 2.2 XS.

Yesterday the car was fine and this morning it wont start.

When you put the key in, it goes all the way in, press the clutch and start button and nothing happens at all. Tried locking and unlocking then trying again but wont work. Big Cry

Tried different keys and nothing.

All electrics work, ie indicators lights radio ect.

LR assistance on the way.

I am puzzled! Gone S383 ABA Freelander 2.0 XEDI Rioja Red

LRA should take the car to any local dealer, unless they have placed themselves on STOP, they can't turn work down unless they have done this Rolling Eyes

they might not be able to look at the car till thurday but you should be in a loan car till fixed, unless your now able to drive around in it Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Yeh car now starts but he has left the codes in the memory so it can be checked on Thursday.

Stratstone said get the car in and leave it but they will not look at it till 12th as they are too busy. The dealer is also a Aston Martin dealership and i am sure if a AM customer had a problem they would not be too busy.

Never mind, i will make sure that everyone knows how good Team Valley is and will always use them from now on! Gone S383 ABA Freelander 2.0 XEDI Rioja Red

i had a similar problem where it wouldn't even jump start. Had it towed to my closest stealer (over 100 miles away, YAY LR Roadside and Warranty) they gave me a new battery but said that wasn't the problem, they said there was some kind of sensor that I had tripped that basically made the truck think it was in motion when it was parked so i wouldn't start because it thought it was already moving (or something along those lines, its been awhile). it was some kind of sensor that had to do with the air bags or something. really weird never heard of it before.

I am sorry to disagree but the way my problem has been handled by team valley is not up to scratch.

As you may or may not know the freelander2 has many interconnecting systems which all depend on each other.Just one problem with one can lead to other system failures.
On the manual clutch there is a micro swicth sensor which has to make before the car will ingauge the starting motor.Thats the first place i would look.
It sounds like its just a simple fault of a faulty sensor in the starting controll system.
With todays cars they depend on so much more to run correctly that when one part fails your stuffed with out many of the test and fault code readers to trace the area of the fault. Would be nice if you could update us all on here when its fixed, good luck Thumbs Up

If there is a clicking sound as well, it's probably the starter button thats faulty. took the local stealer 10 days along with LR technical to work that one out.
