Windows opened on their own?

Worrying one this.
I have an 09 HSE, locked the car last night, two pushes on the button to double lock and all windows were up.
Came down this morning, all windows down, mirrors folded in (so glad it did not rain last night)!
Not a good security feature, put hand in the car, alarm did not sound, so assume that was disabled as well.
Stupidly forgot to try the door before trying the remote fob.
Anyone else had this problem?
Have ruled out accidental opening, the fob was in my coat hung on a chair and to auto open mine you have to press the button a long time. 09 FL2 HSE auto Lago Grey

can only suggest that somehow you have managed to press the unlock button long enough for the car to unlock and the windows auto drop.. As you havent actually entered the car it has auto relocked after a minute or so hence why your wing mirrors have folded back in.

I had exactly the same thing happen to my 07 HSE. The car was OK when I went to bed but in the morning the windows were open - I had not been near the keys since checking it the night before. Has never happened again so I really didn't know what to think.
Glad I am not the only one to have had this occur - thought I was going senile!! mole

I don't doubt this is a technology problem, though you'll have problem convincing the dealer of this because they’ll always play the “are you sure you didn’t hit the button by mistake, sir” card and will not listen to your totally reasoned description of what happened.

A friend of mine has a VE Phaeton which has a habit of opening it’s boot (a power open boot) at all times of the day and night. This has lead to him having possessions nicked from the car over night, 18 months down the road the dealer is still not able to diagnose the fault (let alone fix it).

Dealers, don’t you just love them (bunch of robbing ****dards!) Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

I know there is no way the button could have been pressed long enough for this to have happened.
I will ring the dealer during the week and see if this feature can be disabled on my car. 09 FL2 HSE auto Lago Grey

Had it once on our Audi TT when I first got my car, noticed it on the driveway about 10 mins after I locked up.

Went through the window reset process "up down in out round and round"...whatever it is (rtfm) and its never happened again 58 HSE, auto, lago grey, tints. Mine and my dogs Storm and Sky

Could be radio waves from mobile phones, was their a broken down tractor nearby with a few guys scratching there heads, one of them may have had a FL2, just a possibility. Smile p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

We all know that it takes two presses on the blip to lock and set the alarm. To day as an experiment I pressed the blip twice so the doors locked and the double locked and alarm set, I then just held the open blip down and the car unlocks after 30 seconds or so the car relocks itself and double locks so that the doors cannot be opened from inside and the mirrors fold back in but the alarm is not set. I think that shilen has possibly hit the nail on the head so to speak. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Sorry, can you please clarify this? In my car, I only need to press the blip once and the car locks AND the alarm activates (red light under the speedometer is blinking). Reading your reply I get the impression that I HAVE to press the blip twice to achieve this. Please let me know if you think that I am under the impression that the car's alarm activates (but it does not) or I actually only need to press the blip once.

Thanks

Read the handbook page 45-46 for full description of the alarm.
Don't worry, either one push or double push, the alarm system is armed.
In double push mode the alarm is set in "enhanced mode". Laughing

Get someone to stay in the car while you set the alarm then wave their arms about? Confused

Read my comments on same subject further down page. 2-3 days ago. My cure for this problem is to stop playing pocket billiards with your keys when you have a car fitted with global closing. All FL2's (3) Gone
