XS still has heated seats and there have not been any communications to suggest otherwise. Usually and additions or deletions are saved for a model year change.

It's the same with Mini as they are made to order, and so much is customised at the factory, rather than dealer fit. But they still get it wrong at times (and no doubt Audi) and customers don't get their correct order. Phil |

same with John Deere tractors. All parts arrive just in time to fit the tractors on the production line, each tractor having its own list of specifications. When I visited the factory in Germany they were making 100 per day.

None of the manufacturers are perfect all the time, I've known Audis with wrong engines and one came to UK as Left hand drive and was supplied to no less than three dealers, all sent the car back saying its left hand drive but when someone else ordered that spec it was sent out again. Only after three times did it get returned to Germany. These mess ups do not happen often but they do happen. All manufacturers use the just in time method and the cars have build sheets made up of codes howvever al the time there is human imput mistakes can be made. These seats for the Freelander may have been listed wrongly by the seat manufacturer which is why they ended up in the wrong car. All the time people rely on these codes no one actualy checks the product which is why a mistake can go unoticed by so many people. 2009 FL2 GS

So the dealer took my car and put in the new a/c module with the heated seat switches. Guess what - it doesn't work. Cars are too clever by half these days, it seems, so they have to reprogram the computer to tell it the switches are there before it does anything. Apparently this takes a couple of weeks because they have to get a file from Land Rover. I'm taking it in next week to have it re-programmed which will take - wait for it - a couple of days! What are they using - a 56K modem and a ZX81? |

Not sure of my facts but is there not a time limit on rejecting a car, 30 days spring to mind, and the delaying tactics could well take you beyond this period. Then again I am a born cynic. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

I have just put in electric seats in my 58 plate but didn't have the car seat module, I've ordered one but just want to check, I have the cable for heated seats will this module operate the heated seats or do I need some other module to plug them into and do I have to get it programmed? Help |

A couple of weeks to get the reprogram file from JLR? I may be wrong but that's bull. I can't help thinking your being fobbed off. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018
