Mine is due in 28 days and quoted £350, reduced to £300 by Williams in Manchester. Guy Salomon sent me a SMS saying that they have a offer of £100 off service price but when I checked they quoted £397 and then take off 100. Not impressed with their tactic so booked with Williams. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

1st Service Costs

Time approaching for the first service so I have been having a ring around to get an idea on cost. This seems a bit variable on where you are and where you are prepared to travel to to have service carried out.
Prices quoted so far - Lookers Colchester £455 with engine flush and litre of top up, £394 without flush and top up. Hunters Kings Lynn (Supplying dealer) £373 with flush and top up. Lindacre Ipswich (Authorised Independent) £286 (not sure about flush or top up included).
Taking the lead from another forum member/posting some time ago, I tried the approach re checking pricing elsewwhere but this didn't result in any price reduction. Lookers offer was simply to delete the flushing operation and top up oil.
I did note a recent forum member suggesting costs of £250 - £260 for first and third services and £350 or so for second but I wasn't sure if this referred to Main dealer or independent. Also think it was "up north" where costs all round seem closer to reality.
I have been using Lookers in Colchester for any warranty work so far and whilst it shouldn't make any difference, I don't want to loose any goodwill for future repairs etc but the difference in costs are suggesting I will need to take that risk.
Hope to get some feedback from you in particular those forum members located in East Anglia and the Southeast.
Thanks

2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

I get mine done at a Land Rover service centre up north and they are a great deal cheaper than Stratstone. The reason I was given for this is they don't have the same overheads as a dealership such as upkeep of the showroom etc. I would have thought the showroom etc could keep itself without having to rip off the service side of things.

Just booked mine with Lynn at £333. They started at £369 but i told them that others were cheaper and while I was not about to drive to Knutsford to save £100 I thought they should do something and they did. 2009 FL2 GS

Guys, don't want to upset anybody, but there is really necessary 2 threads with the same topic?
This one and the one from the Maintenance & Modification section?
http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic5250.html

To moderators/administrators:
Could be those threads merged for the sake of cleanliness and accurary when you search for it?
And maybe the Search button to be bolded or colored differently? Wink

For the Southeast these are good, used to have my Disco TD5 done here instead of the supplying dealer in the first three years.

http://www.rcv.co.uk/servicing.php?s=4

My supplying dealer now offer a price matching pledge, so the original quote of £373.00 for my FL2 was reduced to £243.00 all in Very Happy 09 FL2 HSE auto Lago Grey

Excuse the ignorance as a newbie FL2 owner but for some time now we punters have been able to take our cars to any VAT reg'd garage for a service i.e. independant specialist........... I know they are complex machine but isnt the 1 st service an oil change? (asked out of ignorance)

What are the service intervals anyway ?

Cheers Guys
