Trim Issues

Hi

Adding to my long list of issues with my 08 FL2 SE with 35k miles

My drivers door well has paint peeling from it - apparently scuffed by me - but shouldn't this area be robust to scuffing.

And....

Collected the car from the dealers today following the rear haldex unit replacement and rear diff. replacement to spot that my drivers seat leather trim is split in 3 places - i hadn't noticed this before it went in so in my opinion they should replace the seat. Just wondering if anyone else has had these issues.

Oh. just to cheer you all up here are a few of my other issues i have had - something to look forward to if you have not experienced them already.

Sticking door mirrors
Door trim falling off
Power steering pump
Noise when air con is turned on
Software re-installed 3 times for console
CD unit changes track when it hears something it doesn't like.
Radio comes on when i open the door - no keys in ignition.
Phone hangs up mid conversation
Stiff clutch after 30 mins on motor way
Sure there is more............ Sad

The seat trim is the pressing issue at the moment WHY DID I BUY ONE?

My only issue has been the sticking door mirrors, but that is an easy fix... I am very happy with my FL2, 50k kms. and still feels like new. 2008 Freelander 2 Td4 HSE Buckingham Blue

Not much use to your question but I do find it strange that certain parts elements of the drivers area aren't robust at all. I've had mine a week but have identified a few areas which I know will soon look worn:

On the left of the clutch pedal there's a place that I thought was to rest my feet, but it's covered in the cheap carpet rather than plastic, so that'll soon look tatty if I don't leave my foot on the mat instead.

Not sure if it's just my interior (have the sport edition) but the doors are covered partly in fabric - it's quite rough and I can imagine will collect dirt but be impossible to clean (mucky hands etc)

Actually, that's all so far but agreed it's not overly robust.

On another note - the shiny metallic surround for the gear stick reflects the sun and street lamps which I find quite annoying...

Unfortunately your biggest arguement is proving that the seat was fine when it went in, did you complain before driving off the forecourt? LR kindly put a dent on my bonnet when I took mine in for service, i didnt notice until the day after and when I took it back I was told they didnt do it. Land Rover Law - You are guilty till you prove your innocence!!

On a more cunning note - if your drivers seat is suffering from being loose (a common problem) play on it, I got a new drivers seat out of LR, beats buying leather cleaner any day - simply get LR to replace the seat!!

Hi Zinger - The split leather driver seat, I take it is the plastic seat sides that are split Question If so this is a known fault that should be fixed under warranty. The sticking door mirrors can be lubricated and I believe has fixed this problem on some Freelys. The phone thing is handy if its the nagging wife calling you but otherwise not heard of that one before. Likewise the stiff crutch on the motorway Laughing
The automatic radio is a feature which could be handy although it should not be that way and again, never heard of it before.
Sorry to hear about your problems though, although seems weird that some Freelys seem to get all sorts of problems and others none. Happily mine has been almost perfect in nearly 2 and a half years Thumbs Up 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
