Germany 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Alaska White

Tim

Sorry I think you are very wrong about oil coolers. Having owned 2 x X5's and 3 x ML's they tow 3500kg (braked) as standard from the factory. The new X5 needs air suspension to tow that weight alse I think is limited to 2700kg. Since my caravan weighs 2000kg and have never had a problem I would suggest no modification is required.

I suspect the truth is the public reaction to seeing German 4x4s rather than a good "British" product. Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys

Mercs and BMW's don't have oil coolers as standard and have to be adapted at great expense to tow anything.

Was there not a big thing in the motoring press about three months ago about the X5 needing an Oil Cooler and a larger Fan to be able to tow, costing in the region of £750 this is on top of the Tow Bar and Electrics, i am pretty sure it also stated that unless these modifications were fitted they would throw out any warranty faults on the gearbox and engine which happen whilst or contributed to towing. Question But this was on the X5 only and not the Series 5.

Just a tad. I am always making a cods up of reverse. The FL2 and Disco are in different directions for selecting.
