Well after a few weeks of ringing around dealerships and attempting to get some meaningful PX for my 11yr old FL1 i have put through my order:

You're lucky with an 11 year old part ex. but enjoy your new car, it sounds nice. |

I got double the book (not that ive seen it) price and a bit more than i would have private so was very lucky. Had a couple of friends ask to buy it private but with an 11yr old car i had concerns that something might go clunk. Agreed on buyer beware but still best of offload somewhere you wont see it again. When you get your insurance I would be interested to see where you got it. I have the same problem its not listed yet. I have been told to insure as an XS as thats what the sport is based on???? |

Its definately based on a GS not XS, so you might be adding to the premium there. Thinking about it, there must another couple of hundred people at least having this problem. Im not sure it will ever be included in the drop down lists due to its limited run.

Yep you are right there must be 200 of us with the same problem. Quotes for XS with factory fitted wheel upgrade specified are actaully coming in cheaper than my FL1 S! dosen't make sense to me.

Try A-Plan Insurance, when I bought my LE Sport they could not find it on the system either, but the assistant rang the underwriters and called me back within the hour and confirmed that the Sport LE is based on the GS and therefore the same insurance group as the GS. We have been with them for years and they always been much cheaper. My insurance premium for the LE was £270 fully comp protected with legal for a 43 years young with full no claim and no points (touch wood). A-Plan 01635 874 646. Hope this helps guys. If I had all the money I spent on Beer!, I'd spend it on Beer!. |

Just for info guys - I have insured through LV who underwrite themselves. Sport LE is not listed but they tell me it will be on the next update from DVLA at the end of March so for now they have picked the closest model and put a note on the certificate it is actaully a Sport LE. Full no claims, no points, protected no claims and additional legal cover for 42 yr old plus spouse £250.58 all in. If any other company is unsure you can search the ABI website where it has a unique vehicle code and insurance group listed which is where they get the info from. Very comprehesive list included FL2 black and white.

Actually they came out cheapest on the comparison sites. Waiting for quote from A-plan. Just a question, does anyone know if leather Sport LE comes with front armrests, the one I saw did but it's never mentioned in any of the bumf.
