Strange Radio Behaviour

Has anybody seen the following with the radio (basic version). I noticed the other day that with the headlights set to Auto when I switched off the engine and locked up the car, the radio was off but the radio button illumination remained on, headlights had gone off as normal.
As I was late for an appointment left it as it was and returned some two hours later - same situation car locked radio off but radio button illumination still on. Confused
Additionally the radio occasionally wakes up when you start the ignition but no text or clock in the display and no sound. To remedy this switch car off & on again and all's well. Any ideas? Is some sort of software update needed.
By the way its a FL2 2007. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

It has been mentioned on here in the past and has happened to mine once, put it down to pushing in the fob and pressing the start button to quickly and the car not "Booting up Correctly". p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Dimly lit stereo after locking

Sorry to resurrect and old thread but thought it was better than starting a new one. I have noticed the same behaviour on my head unit, buttons are very dimly lit after locking the car. Does any one know a fix for this?
If not will a new radio fix the problem, or is it a wiring / software issue somewhere else?
If I was to replace the unit is there any compatible upgrade units with the standard 07my GS?

My radio (S model) went funny recently. LED screen lit up but was blank. I turned the ignition off and the screen was still illuminated but still blank. I took the fob out and re-inserted it then the radio booted up and was fine since. Dont know the cause but in 9 months of ownership its only done it once. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

I have applied all the software patches available for the radio (as of November 2012).
If I switch the car off and then the radio off (I have a base model radio), upon restarting the car, the radio will go on but with no sound and no audio for rear parking sensors.
This happens irrespective if I do the slow start process or not.

My solution is to switch the radio off BEFORE i switch the engine off. this way - no problem - Laughing

obviously its a software bug that Land Rover is not in a hurry to fix (present only in base line radios)

hi ! a quick update !
I went to get a software upgrade for the DPF. update Q 202, so while i was there i asked them to sort the radio out.
to make a long story short... they re-flashed the radio and put all the upgrades possible...
however, the radio behaves exactly as before. Evil or Very Mad
I need to switch the radio off before i turn the ignition off... or else it wont function once the car is started.

Looks like LR dont have the solution for this.
would be nice to get an internal opinion / response from LR (Liam ?)
Thumbs Up
