Friendly Reminder - Keyfobs

Don't know why this springs to mind but just to remind everyone to occasionally swap your keyfobs for everyday use if one spends most of its time in a drawer.
Also, since keyfobs will begin to show signs of age, we need to dissect one to see if this 'officially unserviceable' item can actually have a more prolonged life. So if anyone finds themselves with a dead one with no prospect of recovery, then we need to see inside!!

If you get no solution (other than them just selling you another) then let me know. If you fancy donating your dead one to science we may be able to revive it and learn some useful information in the process.

Good luck with getting it resolved - keep us posted.
Keyfobs seem to have been generally very reliable so far but I guess it's just a matter of time for all of us.... Confused

Mrs G has various blingified keyrings on her fob , so I use mine when I'm taking the car, works well, keeps them refreshed.

yes I said fob, not a part of her body...before someone cracks a joke Laughing At work

I have swopped over and found that strangely enough some settings such as mirror reversing angle and seat position were different and needed adjusted ??

I didn't think this info would be held in the key fob.

A mate of mine had a J&&p 'bland cherokee' a few years back and that had his and hers ignition keys which remembered the seat/mirrors/sterring wheel setting which as you say Andy was a great idea - unless of course you picked up the wife's keys in error and ended up with your face squashed against the steering wheel Rolling with laughter

Mine's 5'3" and I'm 6'0" but we manage comfortably with the seat and steering wheel set the same. Only the internal rear view mirror needs adjusting slightly. We found the same with our last vehicle a Kia Sportage mk2.

It wouldn't be so for a manual, I'm sure. Nor could we do it in any previous cars.
