So does anyone know where we get on of those G4 roof racks with the lights from? Surely they will sell them...? It looks almost identical to the Disco3 one... wonder if it would fit....?

Old Thread, but still interesting for me. It´s hard to find any pictures of G4 Freelander 2. I consider how it looks on my Black Edition with the Exp. Rack + Ladder? Wink

If anyone does find a source - I'd buy the G4 Roof Rack & Ladder.

Finders Fee would be paid (subject to sight of product & purchase)

Depends what you want the rack for. Looks or carrying ability. If it's to carry stuff the Frontrunner racks look more functional. A ladder isn't really need as the vehicle is quite low.

The FL2 may be lower than its LR siblings, but for her indoors & daughter (6yrs) it's too high to reach even skis off the ski rack. A roof luggage box would present similar difficulties.

A G4 ladder n Roof Rack would be better than them standing on sills and clinging on struggling to take kit off the roof. And it would significantly reduce the risk of damage to the bodywork paint.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I see no rational reason to spoil an FL2 with something that looks like it fell off a caravan.

the step fits over the wheel...only when needed. never drive off with it installed as it will ruin your wheels arch (unless you have a grey car) At work

My own opinion is that if you end up putting stuff on the roof etc on a regular basis you should just buy a bigger car.

Racks boxes etc seem to cause so much grief, fitting them, wind noise, theft prevention etc etc .

but as ever it is a free choice , I'd never force my opinion on others Mr. Green and I have the benifit of owning a pickup truck if I need to transport bulky items.

I did once use a borrowed bike rack on my fl2 , what a fiddle and the bikes seemed to be wider than the car not good on twisty welsh roads. I had to wrap the 'hooks' with tape to prevent scratching, the owner lately thanked me for that saying the hooks had previously wrecked the paint on his Audi A5 Shocked
We also borrowed his expensive mountain bikes and as there was no lock I felt unable to leave then unattended on the car. At work

Ladder for back door is available new from Mantec - bought one December they only have a limited number.

Other G4 additions
Dog guard -- LR.
Fire exitinguisher & bracket -- ??
Boot floor rubber mat, cut for extinguisher -- LR.
Rubber mats in footwells -- LR.
Sump Guard -- Mantec.
Fuel tank guard -- Mantec.
Plastic bull bar -- LR.
Roof rack with 2 lamps -- let me know because I would like one!
Light guards -- LR.
Detachable tow ball -- LR.
Bright orange paint job -- LR, but you will either love it or hate it Wink
No snorkle fitted as the side repeater lamp is in the vent Crying or Very sad

If any one knows of a snorkle that will fit can you please let me know.

As you can see not a massive change from a standard HSE, unless they have done something less obvious such as fitting air-conditioning for a vehicle destined for a hotter/colder climate. Says alot about the "base" vehicle.

Used the ladder half a dozen times to access the roof rails since christmas - does that mean I am short or lazy Cool

Thanks for the nod that Mantec have the ladder. I'll try and get one from them. Cheers.

I don't want to make Felix look like a G4, just provide a little assistance for daughter & her mum.
