Poland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Auto Stornoway Grey

I'll probably repeat what's been said before:

- make the boot a bit longer, even 2-4 inches would make a big difference for me
- make the lower part of the central console narrower, it does not give much legroom for driver's right leg (LHD version) - my shank suffers on bumpy roads
- start selling them with proper tyres (M+S don't have the grip in winter, and their summer performance is inferior, too)
- coin box would be great
- no more proprietary DVD sat nav, get some WinMobile software installed
- a separate switch to operate headlight washers
- no air suspension
- extended warranty (it's 2y in PL, ouch)
- audio kit (the iPod/iPhone module) standard, perhaps with Video feed enabled for headrest displays

"Unemployed" if he revealed anything. Lr2maker is a man of mystery who is our mole within the LR camp.

the problem with a poll is you can only vote for one item, and there is no point in wasting time unless LR are going to use it Confused Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Wish Listing...

1. Chicken George is safe from the Americans until the next Freelander/LR2(3?) get released. At that point all bets are off! Laughing

2. Air suspension? Most owners won't want the additional expense. Off-Road Package?

3. The steering wheels across the pond are on the proper side IMHO. Whistle

4. Thanks for the warm welcome! Thumbs Up

Only if you like to sit in the passenger side.I think you will find other important controls such as the pedals are on the drivers side

Keep the distinctive Land Rover shape, don't try to make it look like, say a CRV
Larger boot, I am not too bothered about length but could be a little deeper
Upgrade headlights to Xenon as standard and have better sidelights
Do away with keyfob and have proper ignition key
Improve Satnav
Perhaps have option of dual range gearbox
Perhaps have option of more powerful engine
Offer an inclusive servicing package
Improve warranty

Canada 2008 LR2 i6 HSE Auto Tonga Green

1. Bigger Engine (More HP) for the Canadian and American models. (Previously mentioned by John L.)
North America buyers look at HP when purchasing. Do a side by side comparison with its competitors and engine HP is the only spot where the LR2 trails badly.
The LR2's v6 has 230hp,
Ford Escape XLT 240hp,
the BMW X3 has 260hp,
the Mercedes GLK has 268hp,
and even the LR2's close cousin the Volvo XC60 offers 281hp by putting a turbo on the same v6 engine.
The LR2 needs even 280hp or more because it is a lot heavier than its competitors.

2. Hybrid power train option (Gas or Diesel).
LR has a chance to be the first mass market truck manufacturer with an entire Hybrid lineup (only 5 models). The RRS, D4/LR4 have a hybrid on the way. Get the hybrid LRX out next year then drop its power train in a Freelander 3 hybrid. We don’t get the Defender here anyway.

3. Diesel engine option on North America or even better ship the Freelander 3 e west.

4. Proximity Key. Push button start without inserting the Key fob.

5. Home link. For Garage doors, remote Home Lights etc.

6. Proper fold away (flat) rear seats like the Freelander 1.
I can fit more stuff in my FL1 than my LR2 (FL2) with the seats down. Don't have to worry about crushing/creasing the seat leather either.

7. Interior. I love the LR2's interior but less hard plastic please. Don't change the shape of the dash just the materials of the center and lower dash panels.

8. Increase warranty to 5 years /100 000km or more.

9. Standard LCD (no more holes in dash) with user inputs, could still leave GPS NAV module as an option.

10. * Bonus * - LCD Gauges from RR and LRX.

Slightly off topic but this thread has certainly created a lot of interest with contributions from many posters who we don't see very often, just goes to show that the site gets a hell of a lot of members who we don't see very often but obviously monitor and post when they feel the need.
