My bad. All FL2's sold here have xenons. And as the car hasn't been delivered yet, I was puzzled that the manual has adjusting lever.

Hallogens vs. Xenons, I would say go with xenons, you won't regret. 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone

My brother has xenons in his beamer but he's impressed with the quality of mine.
Apparently the bluer the rim of the beam the stronger they are. FL2's seem to be wright on the edge, stronger and they would be blue. In other words, top quality xenons are fitted.

Don't know much about electronics but my brother does so I accept his word for it (and felt very good about it when he told me Razz )

SMO - £1000 +/- for xenon's (which obviously are excellent) or £40 for an easy fit aftermarket upgrade, which are not as good but a very close second. We got the car second hand so didn't have the option. Have fitted Phillips Diamond vision +80% and can very highly recommend Thumbs Up

Depends how much night driving you do I guess, and on what type of roads... we rarely go out after dark due to the lack of available baby sitters Evil or Very Mad , so halogens are fine for me, I added the stronger bulbs as it was a cheap and good upgrade At work

As per my earlier post, lots and in country lanes for a good portion of my daily commute, sadly due to working hours and the length of drive hlaf the year i travel to and from work in the dark.

We dont get out much in the evening either CG, no babysitters here either!!! I appear to be addicted to Landrovers...

TD5 D-Lander hopefully finished soon!
FL2....this year with any luck!

What benefits do the adaptive type bring?

I am really wondering how long i can go on without a 4x4 now, not only do i crave to have one back again but with the weather we get i am stuck at home with little hope of getting into or back from work and being the boss there is only so long i can not go into the office - even the Mrs is saying i ought to get one!! I appear to be addicted to Landrovers...

My daily commute is 100 miles, 1/4 of that is down tiny country lanes totally unlit, quite narrow in places but with a fia rbit of traffic in places. I find my current headlights so poor that with oncoming traffic i'm guessing where the road has gone most of the time which is horrible.

Whilst Xenons are the lights of choice, it seems hardly any FL2's have them, the approved used site shows just a handful out of hundreds of vehicles.....either that or the dealers are listing them on the spec!!

I have went from halogens (with bulb upgrade) to adaptive xenons, driving on normal straight roads, there is not much difference between them, but getting on to a twisty country lanes the adaptive xenons are well worth the money.

I have become quite used to the adaptive part and driving my wifes little punto with halogens down the same road, I don't half notice the difference Shocked Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

So here's a question, I've tried reading a few other threads but got muddled...

10forcash's upgrades... I'm guessing we get the following?

1. New headlight units
2. New light control switch (i.e. without the headlight levelling wheel)
3. Change to the CCD to set the car for xenons

Is that right?

Cheers!
